Spring in our steps!
our season is well underway in La bella italia

Our first two tours of this season have taken us to Tuscany, from Lucca across to the  enchanting Island of Elba and from the north of Tuscany to ravishing Ravenna.  The fields are full of wild flowers, the markets are coming to life with fresh asparagus, artichokes, cherries and apricots and the long evenings have given us perfect conditions for spring hiking.  This is a glorious time of year to visit Italy and in 2019 we plan to kick-off the season with our hike in the Italian Lakes, from May 2 - 9.  If you have always dreamed of visiting Lake Como, Lake Maggiore or the hidden gem of Lake Orta then this could be the tour for you!

So, if you want to spring into action and start to think about your travel plans for next year, we would love to hear from you.  Some of the 2019 tours are already fully booked so don't wait too long to get in touch if you would like to hike with us next year.

Which is the right hiking holiday for you?
If you haven't done a walking holiday before, it might be hard to decide which is the best hike for you.
Our recent Blog looks at the factors to take into account when organising your trip. Our tours are carefully planned to suit the right climatic conditions in the different regions, leaving you free to decide if you like mountains, lakes, rolling hills or the sea ...
A View of Volterra
Tuscany is always popular with overseas visitors but some towns remain just a little off the beaten tourist tracks.  Volterra is just such a place.
Our tour in the spring which starts in Lucca also stays two nights in this historic gem. There are thousands of years of history to discover, along with some excellent food, wine and stunning landscapes.

A Hedonistic Hiking Picnic: Food, Wine and Reading!
Our lunchtime stories have become the stuff of legend and bring the places we visit vividly to life.

If you have travelled with us before you will remember the time given after lunch to brief excerpts from books relating to the areas where we walk.  To see a full list of all our favourite books, follow the link below..
